Simple slip stitch creates vertical stripes and adding texture to the stocking stitch background.

What does simple slip stitch look like?

The photo below shows a close up photo of simple slip stitch, while its on a stocking stitch background it does not curls up as much as stocking stitch does.

To do simple slip stitch you need to know how to

• Knit
• purl
• slip stitches

• sl  1- slip 1 stitch

How to do simple slip stitch

Cast on multiples of four +3 eg. 8 +3

Row 1: K1, *sl 1, k3, repeat from *, end sl 1, K1
Row 2: Purl
Repeat rows 1 and 2

I am making a patchwork blanket using all of the squares from the what's that stitch.

What can you make using simple slip stitch?

Using simple slip stitch you could knit a jumper, vest, blanket, boot topper, a mug cozy or a square for a blanket like I have done.
