Since it is nearly Halloween I thought i'd knit these spooky pumpkins, my children love the movie spookley and wanted their own pumpkins similar to spookly. These would be perfect as Halloween decor or a child's soft toy.
Pattern used is Pumpkin Patch by Ann Franklin
Halloween fun
While Halloween isn't really celebrated much here my children still like to celebrate and just have a bit of fun. There favourite part spooky pumpkins and lots of them of course, when they saw the pattern for these they soon added them to their list of things for mummy to make. I decided to make the spooky knitted pumpkins a bit different from each other by changing stitch for the bottom of the stalk and changing the mouth.Making the spooky pumpkins
I decided to knit the spooky pumpkins in a chunky yarn instead of a DK/8ply yarn and just went up a needle size. The pattern says intermediate but is quite easy to follow and these were so fun to make, if I hadn't run out of yarn I would have knitted more of them - laughs. The pieces were quick and easy to knit up here they all are together layed out before stitching the spooky pumpkin for Halloween.
The first knitted spooky pumpkin I made I decided to add a zig zag mouth but I didn't want to make it look perfect, I think it came out quite nice and similar to a carved pumpkin.
Here are the close up photos of the mouth and the eyes of the pumpkin.
The second knitted spooky pumpkin I made, the stalk I made a bit different than the first by knitting it in stocking stitch instead of garter stitch. Here are the photos of the pumpkin.

Happy Halloween from my family to your, hope you have a great Halloween.
