What is mock rib?
Mock rib creates a stitch that looks similar to rib and the knit two, purl two rib. It is also stretchy like the rib stitches and knits up quicker than a rib stitch too. It is called a mock rib because while it is similar the 2nd row is knitted in purl stitch. It is always knitted with the first row as a K2,P2 (knit two, purl two) as a K1,P1 (knit 1, purl 1) is last months stitch sand stitch. I love how the pattern on the back looks and how simple this stitch is too, as it only uses knit and purl stitches with a two row repeat it is perfect for a beginner knitter.
