Here is the knitted Heart Coaster under the knitted roses I made for mothers day as a centre piece on my table for Mum.

Pattern Story
The lots of love heart coaster I designed in memory of my Mum who passed away, it would have been
Mother's Day here in New Zealand when I designed it. I wanted to create something with meaning and something that reminded me of her. The knitted roses above I knitted because they were her favourite flowers. The knitted lots of love coaster because mum was always so loving and kind to everyone, she used to ring daily to check in and see how we were going and how we were doing. This pattern is a tribute to her and her love. Love you infinity Mum. Make your own heart coaster for someone who you love or who means a lot to you.
Pattern for heart coaster
You will need:
- 5mm double pointed needles, you can use straight needles if you prefer.
- 50 gram ball of Red 8ply/DK cotton
- Scissors
- Yarn or tapestry needle
Pattern:
- Cast on 1 stitch, knit
- knit into the back of the stitch twice (3sts)
- Increase at each end of the row for 15 rows
- knit 10 rows
- k2tog at the start of the row and knit 11sts, k2tog
- turn leaving the rest of the stitches on the left hand needle
- k2tog at each end of the row for 5 rows
- cast off
- rejoin the yarn to the other side
- knit to the last 2 stitches and K2tog
- k2tog at each end of the row for 5 rows
- cast off
- weave in ends using a yarn or tapestry needle.
