2026 goals and words of the season.

Picture of 2026 goals and words

Hi friends, I can’t believe it’s a new year already!!! Thanks for joining me here today and I appreciate you all sticking around as my health continues to be up and down, managing and coping with 10+ chronic illnesses can be hard at times. In today’s post I’m sharing my 2026 goals on of which is to spend more time blogging here, my word of the year and more.

[Start of image description: a white rectangle with the words “2026 goals and words” with a smaller rectangle underneath with the words “cottage life”. With a picture of a flower in bloom, it has blue tiny buds in the middle and white flowers around the outside. End of image description,]

I’m ready to start the year, things the last few months have become more manageable thankfully with my chronic illnesses. I still have my bad days, flare ups at least weekly and juggling life with 10+ chronic illnesses. I’m continuing to take things slowing down and going at my body’s pace. I enjoyed taking a break from our shop and social media over this holiday period.

Goals for this season

This year I've planned for the next 3 months and have 3 goals I want to achieve during this time.

  • Harmonized family and home - decluttering, family theme days and outings.
  • Gratitude for health and well-being - with this I want to also continue learning how to crochet.
  • Being intentional with CWCK - working on our website, knitting items for our shop, market in February a new design I hope to publish in March but will see.
We are currently declutterring our playroom and donating toys the Master Crafters (my children) toys they have outgrown or no longer play with. All of their special toys with memories that they want to keep they have put safely away.

Word of the year

Each year, I pray and ask God for a word of the year. I got three words for each of the following:
  • Health
  • Personal/Family
  • CWCK
So those nine words sat on the paper for weeks with me wondering why. There is one for each season with none for winter because my health is usually worse in the winter time. My overall word of the year is cultivate.

Here is my words for this season:
  • Health - Gratitude
  • Personal/Family - Harmony
  • Intentional - Cozy Woodland Cottage Knits

Gratitude for my health

Gratitude for my body and all it does to get me through each day with so many chronic illnesses and trying to manage them all. It can be hard when so often I feel like my body is against me, I know many people with chronic illnesses also have this same struggle. For finding gratitude in the small wins and little moments of the day eg. a cuppa outside in the sunshine, a nice walk in the garden, seeing a beautiful rainbow after the rain. Each morning I write out an A5 page on things I’m grateful for as I listen to the synaxarion about the lives of the Saints.

Harmony for family/personal

Harmony for all of us working together to create cozy intentional spaces for us all to enjoy, work in and learn etc. We have been re-organising our playroom now that the Master Crafters (my children) are getting bigger. Last year we were able to better organise our homeschool room after getting a cabinet for supplies, saved completed work that can be referred back to. Well I should call it our multi purpose room, it has the playroom at the end, homeschool in the middle and my studio at the front. The studio is looking better since then as the homeschool books are no longer in there which has given me more room in there too. I eventually want to better organise my studio as well and decorate it better too to make it more whimsical.

Intentional my word for CWCK

Intentional for working on things intentionally and to be intentional with my time as well. This season my focus is on the website, which I had stopped working on. As sitting at my computer makes my symptoms worse, my laptop keyboard broke and using a seperate keyboard while more doable was hard. I’m happy to now have a device I can use while laying down and can still type correctly.

I have so many plans, things that need fixing up on this website etc but I’m writing those down as I find them and adding them to the list instead of stopping what I’m working on and working on that instead. Hopefully it will minimise my side quests that usually just lead to more and I end up so far from where I was meant to be.
