It's our 6th Birthday!!!

The studio is buzzing, balloons are every where - It’s our 6th Birthday!!!

It's also 6 years since I started designing patterns and weaving stitches one at a time. Just over a year later I was diagnosed with two chronic illnesses within months of each other. Thanks for all of your support, comments and messages. I appreciate all of you and thank you for being here.

In the studio

Each item we sell is lovingly created with a touch of whimsy, I'm lead by God and we've been co-creating together since 2021. Every piece is designed in my studio, couch or the whimsical garden- sketching out designs, weaving both stories and yarn into stitches, creating patterns, creating items for you to enjoy. Once created the Master Crafters carefully wrap the bundles, tie them with yarn and add our wax seal to the packaging. Then the owl post carefully drop them off to their new homes for you to enjoy.

A few memorable moments 

There has been so much happen in the last six years, at times its been challenging and tough and at other times a bit easier mostly due to my health that improved after surgery for a while and has declined since then unfortunately continuing to do so.

The early years

• 2018 - I started teaching in person beginner knitting classes and I started learning how to knit with my left hand instead of my right hand by knitting continental.
• 2019 - My health declined I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and endometriosis within a few months of each other, I share a bit of my journey here.  I started sharing my journey with endometriosis. You can see bits of on our social media and in snippets of my book "The Mysterious Trek".  I also had to stop working due to my health I loved working as a caregiver in the rest home. I  started a knitting design course to learn more about designing and launching knitting patterns.

2020 

• I found God again and learnt and grew a lot in my faith.
• I launched Autumn Leaves Chunky Scarf which you can find here and I became an independent knitting designer for Love Crafts.  
• We including my doctor thought I was on the path to recovery with endometriosis. Unfortunately things got better but not as good as we hopped for. 
• I started transformational life coaching with Rebekah at Scripture Prescriptions Ministry to overcome personal things I was dealing with which I wont go into detail about other than to say PTSD from abuse and medical trauma are tough. 
• I'm also thankful for my sponsor for my sessions I was able to have without this I wouldn't have been able to. 
• I was also diagnosed with autism and things I struggle with made so much sense and knowing this has also helped as well. 

2021

• I started sharing my writing through poems and short stories. Also shared my love of books and book reviews. 
• We nearly closed our doors due to my health and personal reasons. 
• After attending an Artist Master Class and spending a lot of time in prayer we decided to rebrand and you can now found my faith sprinkled in pattern stories (if you don't believe in God that's ok I'm sure you'll still enjoy my stories. 
• The Master Class was so good God and I Co-created some amazing new designs.  
• Learning to knit continental with my left hand came in handy as otherwise I can only knit a few stitches before I have to stop.
• I re- launched Autumn Leaves Chunky Scarf and changed the pattern story, images and also launched accessible version of Autumn Leaves Chunky Scarf.

2022

• We moved to a new cottage and things seemed to be going really good it turned out to be the calm before the storm.
• I also got my wheel chair as my mobility that had improved took a dive and my husband became my caregiver for a while. 
• Thank God for a more accessible home where I can use mobility aids in as for a while I was mostly using a wheelchair including around the house. 
• My mobility got better but not as good as it had been. 
• The Letters of Love book by various authors launched and as part of their launch team I won a 1:1 author consult and started writing short stores again after I hadn't since I was a teenager. 

2023

• I decided to re-launched and rebranded our free group which is now a VIP group on Facebook which you can find here. 
• I launched our tranquility headband pattern in a print friendly version and an accessible version, we also launched our hand knits and our mugs in our online Hive store which you can find and follow here
• I spent a lot of time writing and editing along with attending online writing camps. I applied for my short stories to be published in two collections and was accepted for one of them.
• Health still really challenging and debilitating, I now have my own caregiver as well as my husband to help me. I continue to focusing on what I can do.
• I worked away on hand knits and knitting patterns designs.
• We now donate 30% of all orders to Scripture Prescriptions Ministries.

2024

• In January my short story Life Between Two Worlds was published in the Fables of Hope And Light Anthology which can be found on Amazon though I hope to have copies to sell in my store soon. 
• I'm continuing to work here on the website behind the scenes on new sections of the website to bring new things here eg. book reviews, my short stories, poems, snippets of my books while continuing to work on designing knitting patterns.  
• For every item knitted for our shop a second one gets knitted and donated to  Endo Warriors Aotearoa you can find more about the work they do, learn more about endometriosis and shop here.
• I've now just a few weeks ago now finished transformational life coaching with Rebekah at Scripture Prescriptions Ministry and I'm so happy being my true and authentic self.  
• My health continues to be up and down but I'm making the most of what I can do even if that is just resting some days due to debilitating pain that causes fatigue. I'm thankful for my support network that includes my friends, family, Endo Warriors Aotearoa, chronic illness support groups and chronic illness counseling.

I am looking forward to seeing what the rest of this year brings. I'm continuing to work whimsy into our creations and bringing it to you to love.
