Materials
Yarn weight: DK/8Ply but used Aran/10ply in yellow as had no 8ply yellow yarn)

- Sunshine [Yellow] aran by Caron from Love Crafts (used this aran/10ply as I had no 8ply/dk yellow) - Batman
- Black - Batman and Spiderman
- Red - Spiderman
- Blue - Spiderman

- Scrap yarn (not sure where I got it from as it has no label)
Needle sizes used:
- 3.75mm straight needles (15cm long) - for Batman
- 3mm straight needles (30cm long) - for Spiderman

- Toy stuffing
Project
My children love superhero's and these one's are their favourite so I thought I'd knit them and put them away for gifts. Now they will be able to have their own adventures with their Batman and Spiderman soft toys and also take these to bed to snuggle with.

Spiderman Soft Toy
The Spiderman one was easy to knit up and the instructions tell you how they colour changes using two balls of the red making which is good for an advanced beginner or a knitter who hasn't used this technique before. This knitted up really well and I'm so happy with how it turned out. The designer said you could stitch on the white bits for Spiderman's face to make the web but they had tried and it was tricky? Here is a few o.k alot of photo's of the Spiderman and progress along the way.

Batman Soft Toy
The Batman one was easy to knit up using the double pointed needles and had the added bonus of not much stitching up later on just for the arms, the cape and the ears. The instructions included a chart and written instructions for doing the face of Batman. While it said to pick up and knit the stitches for the cape you could just cast on the stitches you needed to pick up which is also good for someone who finds it daunting or does not know how to.

I love how both of these turned out and know the children will love them too having adventures with their new soft toys. I'll probably find them reading stories to them and sitting with them to watch their favourite superhero movies and cartoons too.
