Quick and easy knitted peg bag

picture of knitted peg bag

I switched to a zero waste lifestyle last year, where we are trying to eliminate as much waste as possible. When our plastic peg bag started cracking and splitting  I needed to find one to replace it.  I didn’t want to get another plastic peg bag as it didn’t last that long and I couldn’t find one that wasn't plastic. After flicking through knitting patterns I found one I loved and was big enough to fit all of the pegs in.

[Start of image description for above image: a photo of a grey moss stitch peg bag under the photo is a sage green rectangle with two white stripes. At the top of it is a white rectangle with the words "knitting journal". Underneath is the words "Quick and easy peg bag" and at the bottom is the words "cozy woodland cottage knits. blogspot. com. Please Note

I thought id just let you know this is not a sponsored post, I am not an affiliate of Love knitting, Spotlight, the Book Depository, Debbie Bliss or the company that published her book. I do not receive any money or anything for free by putting the links here. I have asked the companies if it is ok to put the link here.  I just love Debbie Bliss's knitting patterns along with the yarn and fabric, and I used want you to be able to find them too if you'd like to knit a peg bag for yourself. The pattern book I used is Home by Debbie Bliss from the book depository, I bought the from love knitting and fabric I bought from spotlight.

I started my knitted peg bag project, in June last year, yes you read that right in 2017 I am shocking at starting a knitting project and not finishing it.  It was quick and easy to knit up and I enjoyed knitting it up, I quite like the way the moss stitch knits up with its little bumps.  While I had finished all of my works in progress for 2018 started I hadn't lined the peg bag or stitched it up.  I decided this week to cut out the fabric, break out a needle and thread to get the knitted peg bag lined and stitched it up before the plastic peg bag I was using crumbled any more, yes we used it until the pegs fell out of it.

It look less than an hour to line and stitch up, I wish I had finished my knitted peg bag sooner and taken photos for you before it was lined and stitched up. I love how it turned out and I am planning on making another one as a gift for a friend.

Thank you for visiting my knitting Journal!
