The Apprentice has cleaned the Chicken Hotel, we currently have just a few chickens in the hotel with one chicken fully free range. The chicken thought she was a cat and tried to make friends with her. They share a water bowl and the chicken has often tried to get inside by either walking in or by pecking the door laughs. Lately, they've started laying eggs again.

It's September here which means spring is here. The weather has been warmer though the mornings and evenings are still quite cool, in a few weeks time day light savings will start."End of image description.]

Inside we have begun decorating for spring. In the dining room with a floral table cloth, bird and dragonfly bunting hanging with freshly picked flowers. In the kitchen there’s a few vases of fresh flowers both near the jug and our tray with utensils and toothpicks.

In the lounge, the birds nest the master crafters found at the end of spring last year is displayed on the coffee table with some fresh flowers we have picked from the secret garden. We’ve changed out the chunky throws over the couch and replaced them with a rainbow blanket, forest blanket and cushion covers with birds. I also want to knit a cushion cover for spring I’m thinking of knitting a light blue one (similar to the bird cushions) and then creating i-cords to add on flowers, stems and leaves. I’m not sure what colour I’ll do them in maybe a pale yellow to add a touch of brightness or in another soft colour.
With spring in bloom in the garden, the garden fairy’s have been busy celebrating that the cold winter is over. Enjoying the sunshine and hoping the cold mornings and afternoons will let up long enough for a tea party soon. For now, the fairy’s have been coming up with ideas as the rain falls from the heavens making too wet for flying in the garden, gardening or being out if one doesn’t want to end up flightless for weeks because it’ll take that long for the fairy’s wings to dry up. Their tea party will likely include, chocolate, some good herbal tea or maybe a tea tasting, and other goodies.

In the secret garden, we found Mischief in the long grass snuggled up as she often does, shes often well hidden in the grass so we have to be careful where we walk. We also found flowers in the secret garden sometimes new flowers bloom in more places ready to be explored. The master crafters have been enjoying more of the secret garden though I’ll have to walk more of it to see whether it suddenly drops off like some places in the woodland forest do which starts at the end of the secret garden. While I know around where that part ends up I just don’t know what the bit in between is like or how safe it is for them to walk through as some places drop off quite a bit.

It’s been nice to sit out in the secret garden and knit away for a little in the sunshine. I’ve been working away on a log cabin blanket in red for the centre which symbolises the hearth and heart of the home, brown on one side to represent the tough times and green on the other side to represent the good times. It’s going to go on our bed once finished and the colours are I’ll go nicely with our jungle themed room. What are your favourite things to do in spring? What are you currently knitting?
