Twisted bracelet
Pattern story
Friendship is something truly amazing and wonderful the bonds of friendship shared. These I designed to be similar to the friendship bracelets I used to create with my friends when I was younger. I created 3 i-cords to not be too bulky in one bracelet and one for each the parts of a friendship. The stories shared with one another, the memories and good times shared and lastly the most important thing love. The three i-cords are all plaited to entwined each of the parts of friendship together. The i-cords are easy to knit up within a few hours. Knit some in your friends favourite colour or you could knit some for family as gifts.
Materials:
- 4 1/2 mm needles (you can use DPN'S or straight needles)
- A button
- Yarn needle to thread ends in
- Tapestry needle to sew button on
- 10 grams of yarn in 3 different colours in DK/8ply
Gauge:
Gauge is not important for this pattern.
You will need to know how to:
- Cast on
- I-cord
- Slide the stitches along the needle
- Do garter stitch (as your knitting on one side it looks like stocking stitch)
- Cast off

Size:
To find out how long you need to make your knitted bracelet measure your hand and add a 1/4 on to the length.
eg. my hand is 6inches, 6 divided by 4 = 1.5
1.5 + 6 = 7.5 inches so my i-cord needs to be 7.5inches long.
eg. my hand is 6inches, 6 divided by 4 = 1.5

How to make the twisted bracelet:
1. Find out what length you need to knit your bracelet for the size of your hand.2. Cast on 4 stitches and knit an i-cord to the required length.
Step by step instructions - how to do an I-cord - gives instructions, for both Double pointed needles and straight needles
3. When long enough cast off and make a total of 3 i-cords.
4. Tie the ends of the i-cord together and plait them.
5. Secure them at the other end by stitching them together and threading the ends in.
Thread the ends at the other end as well, then stitch a button onto one end.
