My children's preschool were having a dress up in yellow day with the children making donations for daffodil day to raise money for the New Zealand Cancer Society. Yellow would be the only colour clothes etc we didn't have. I decided i'd knit yellow beanies for daffodil day.
What is daffodil day?
Daffodil day is an event where people come together to support the New Zealand Cancer Society's work and raise awareness of cancer. Daffodil day is held on 31st August and people fund raise and make donations to help support the Cancer Society. 1 in 3 New Zealanders are affected by cancer.
Beanies for daffodil day
Knitting beanies for daffodil day for the dress up day sounds great right, the only problem was I didn't know until the night before. OH NO! I didn't want my children to not have anything to wear so I cast on to knit them each a beanie not knowing if i'd get them done in time but I was determined to get them done. I knitted the beanies all night and finally I got them finished just in time, within about 20 mins of needing to leave to go to preschool. Whew! I was so glad I got them finished in time but it was so worth it though. Here are a few photos of the finished beanies for Daffodil Day:
Here is a close up photo of each of the beanies, they were both knitted with two different strands of yellow yarn.
