Ways you can sort your stash
There is so many different ways you could store and sort your yarn stash. You could organise your yarn stash by colour, fibre, projects or by yarn weight. How is your stash currently sorted?Colour
This is quite a creative way to organise your stash and makes it look a bit like a rainbow depending on what variety of colours you have in your yarn stash. Using this way, all yarn of the same and similar colours are grouped together regardless of fibre or yarn weight.

Yarn fibre
Sorting yarn by fibre comes in very handy if you knit with quite a few different yarn fibres. Using this method you could also group the yarn fibres by natural fibres, synthetic fibres or animal fibres

Organising your yarn stash by project
This method of organising your stash is helpful if you have yarn for projects you want to knit.
Handy tip - Print out the pattern for the project you want to knit and put it in with the yarn so you don't forget what you bought the yarn for.
Organise your yarn stash by yarn weight
Using the yarn weight method to sort your yarn makes it easier to find what yarn weight you need for a pattern. The bins below are from left back 4ply, back right 8ply, front left 10ply, and front right 12ply.Ways to store your yarn
Now that your yarn is sorted how are you going to store it? Here is a list of a few ways you could store your yarn along with some photos of these.
