Knitting Journal: Knitted baby gift set

Picure of knitted baby gift set

I thought I would share the baby gift set I have been knitting for our friends baby.  When my partner told me they were having a baby I hadn't realised how soon their baby was due, any day now! So I quickly started to knit up this gift set for the baby.

About the project

As its summer here I knitted this set a few sizes bigger so it should fit my friends baby girl around autumn sometime depending on how big the baby grows and we all know how quickly they can grow.  I made a beanie for the cooler days to keep baby nice and warm, booties to keep her feet toasty and mittens both for the cooler weather and to stop her from scratching herself as baby's often do with their little nails. I also knitted another beanie for baby as she doesn't have many in lime green with variegated green, yellow and white at the top as I run out of the lime green yarn I was using. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of that beanie, I knitted it a bit bigger too so it should fit her around winter time.  Here is a few photos of closer up photos of the baby beanie, booties and, mittens.
