Free DIY montessori colour blocks knitting pattern

Picture of free knitting pattern for DIY montessori colour blocks

Montessori materials can be quite expensive so I thought i'd make these DIY montessori colour blocks.  This knitting pattern is for the first colour box which includes the primary colours.  It is simple and easy to make suitable for a beginner.

What is Montessori

Briefly montessori is a way of teaching your children through play by preparing learning materials based on your child's interest and abilities.  The colour blocks are displayed in a box and left on a shelf for the child to play with on their learning mat.  If you don't follow montessori that's ok you can still use these for your child to match the colours and learn the names of the colours.

What can you use this pattern for?

    1. Awh thanks, yes there are quite a few games you can play. My oldest has started using them to make houses similar to the ones you can make using playing cards.
